Deadlines for comics overwhelm Usamaru Furuya. Even though the biggest names in the comic industry publish him, his star shines as a cult favorite, an underground artist whose emo comics become the voice of a new generation. To escape the duldrums of work, he loses himself in the internet and comes across the journal of a man whose life sounds familiar - Oba Yozo. A feeling of alienation overcomes Oba, and the preasure makes it impossible to socialize with those who surround him. To counter the feeling, Oba plays the role of the fool in order to establish relationships.
