The Triumph of Evil

Triumph of Evil, written by Joe Gill, who was an American magazine writer and highly prolific comic book scriptwriter. Most of his work was done for Charlton Comics. The bright and enduring star of this story is without doubt, the unique and distinctive style of Don Newton's art work. Don was an American comic artist who initially honed his craft working on fanzines.

Do a little research on Don Newton's work and you'll find that two of his Charlton stories have never been published in Australia by Frew. Triumph of Evil is one of these. We plan to publish the other story, The Phantom 1776 a little later in our schedule. Our short story in this issue, Forever, which was written by Andrew Constant and brilliantly drawn by Italian artist, Massimo Gamberi, might stimulate some conversations among the Phantom Phans, as it does explore a potential future for the Man who cannot Die, that is to say the least, without spoilers, a little divergent!
